In order to know where you are going you must know where you are.

Well synchronicity doesnt get much stronger or more clear than this. After having a long and interesting discussion with Alex from too long in this place and mother and family about where we go from here i decided to watch an episode of Stargate Universe. In Stargate there is a character called Eli who is based on the biblical Eli. For the entire 2 series of SGU eli wears but one T shirt it is the one pictured below.

I literally went from having a discussion with Alex about the subject of knowing where you are in order to move forward and progress to watching this episode and well..does it get any more synchronous..The episode in question features Eli lost underground and he wishes desperately for a map with the words you are here written on it so he can find a way out.

There must be some way out of here
Said heath ledger to the thief
There's too much confusion here
I can't get no relief
Businessmen they drink my wine
Plowmen dig my earth
None of them know along the line
What any of this is worth

No reason to get excited
The thief, he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who think that life is but a joke
But you and I, we've been through that
And that is not our fate
So let us not talk falsely now
Because the hour is getting late

All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While horsemen came and went
Barefoot servants too

All I got is a red guitar
Three chords
And the truth

All I got is a red guitar
The rest is up to you

There's no reason to get excited
The thief, he kindly spoke
There are some among us here
Say that life is just a joke
You and I, we've been through that
And that is not our fate (at least today)
So let us not talk falsely now
Because the hour is getting late
Late...

Now that is awesome Gavin :)

Great lyrics too even down to 'barefoot' servants.

& this is wonderful:
"So let us not talk falsely now
Because the hour is getting late"

Good to see your posting again Gavin. I couldn't get past Season 1 of SGU, I found it utterly dragged. Great points!!

I don't know why you are not posting my comments but I wanted to let you know about another little bit of synchronicity which followed our discussion. I was putting away books which had been in boxes for quite some time, waiting for shelf space, and I pulled out a book I had forgotten I had, a Howard Hughes biography entitled "Citizen Hughes". I don't recall if you said this idea of Hughes being Citizen Kane was your original idea, but if it was, then there is some corroboration. It should make for some interesting reading.

Can I please take back the first 10 words of my previous comment? They don't say what I wanted to communicate. Thank you. I wanted to add that speaking with you and Alex really was the last bit of inspiration I needed - I have started my own blog. I don't know how long it will last, but I just feel the need to contribute to the conversation.
